Solar power water heaters in Spain - Integrated systems - Gravity system

Evacuated tubes The latest design in solar systems use evacuated tubes rather than the older design flat panels. With this system the tubes( which are made of toughened borosilicate glass) contain a copper rod , and the tube itself forms a vacuum. The tube is coated in a special layer that maximises the suns energy and concentrates the heat , this in turn travels up to the tank or manifold unit and transfers the heat to the water or liquid.
